We are Michael Riad Zaky and Jaka Pandza at Columbia University. We made a method for generating Physically Based Rendering maps which we are currently using with local scanning businesses. We are documenting the works we make in the process here.

Currently, we work with the following:
- 3D model
- Photographs under several lighting conditions
- Measurements of light sources and camera / object distances

Using these, we generate the 3D rendering maps that would need to be made manually, describing metalness, roughness, as well as ambient occlusion and others. These typically take days or even weeks to create manually.
